This is an elegant piece with a sunny and rustic appeal. I like the impressionist style because it allows your eyes to swim around the image. The composition with the angles of the surfaces of the building accompanied by the swooping stairwell also help keep the eye moving. And I love the organic feel of the front of the staircase.

I have noticed that others who paint in a similar style have great results when they selectively choose colors from close by objects to help them highlight and shade. It often makes an image feel even more alive and have even more depth (even making an image look more realistic).
